Dulguunzaya Mashbat is a BYU–Hawaii alumna from Mongolia. She graduated in the class of 2024.

Why did you choose to come to BYUH?

An incredible scholarship opportunity allowed me to pursue my career goals and dreams. I have thoroughly enjoyed gaining valuable experience here on campus, both academically and through various leadership roles.

What were some activities/clubs/jobs that you were involved with?

I served as Vice President of the Mongolian Club at BYU–Hawaii for two consecutive terms, Winter 2023 and Spring 2024. During my second term, I led the Mongolian Club in collaborating with other international students to participate in the BYUH Got Talent competition, where we won a $500 prize in the Diversity Dance category. Additionally, I have over two years of experience as a supervisor in Facilities Management, ensuring smooth campus operations and a positive experience for everyone.

What does the mission of BYUH mean to you and how have you assisted in fulfilling it?

The mission of BYU–Hawaii is to prepare students like me to become lifelong learners and leaders who can contribute and serve their communities to build a better world. This mission resonates deeply with me and aligns perfectly with my long-term goals. I am grateful for the opportunities I’ve received here, and I am committed to using every talent and skill I have to uplift and support my community, pushing it forward in meaningful ways.

How has BYUH blessed your life?

BYU–Hawaii blessed me with comfort, peace of mind, and a nurturing environment as we raised our children. It is truly a one-of-a-kind school that you won't find anywhere else in the world. The memories I've made, the people I've met, and the colleagues I've worked with will stay with me forever.
