Fredivic Nicerio is a BYU–Hawaii alumnus from Guam, He attended from 1990-1994.

Why did you choose to come to BYUH?

“I chose BYUH to pursue my dream of attending an international school that has a high standard of secular learning and discipline. In addition, I chose it because of its safe, competitive, and balance of secular and spiritual environment. I actually came from Guam before attending BYUH. My dad became a US citizen while I was a missionary and after my mission, I stayed in Guam until I got accepted to attend in BYUH in 1990. After school, I left for Utah but went back to Guam in 1997. I stayed since then.” This year is his 7 year as a Stake President in Guam and he is currently serving in seminary and institutes.

How was your BYUH experience?

Tremendously satisfied. I was able to associate with people of different backgrounds and cultures. It was also great preparation and disciplined me to enter the corporate and real world. My spiritual growth has been enhanced and magnified. My social ability and how I connect with people have been honed. My learning skills, talents, and abilities have been used for good purposes. Overall, it was a great experience that can never be equal to any other experience.

What does the mission and vision of BYU

Hawaii mean to you?

The mission and vision of the school are the reasons I came back to the island of Guam. It was a promise that I treasured long ago. To be able to assist in building the Church in the isles of the seas.
