Mike Foley, a former BYU–Hawaii Alumni Association president and a semi-retired digital media content specialist, is originally from Salt Lake City, Utah; but after serving a mission in Samoa in the mid-1960s, he permanently moved to Hawaii and married a local girl (who he met at the Polynesian Cultural Center).

After graduating from Church College of Hawaii (1970), he taught at CCH, UH/Manoa, and in Bandung, Indonesia, before “retooling” and switching careers.
