From Salt Lake City to Samoa and Hawaii

Mike Foley's journey began in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he spent his formative years. After serving a mission in Samoa in the mid-1960s, he made the life-changing decision to permanently relocate to Hawaii, where he found love and a deep connection to the local culture at the Polynesian Cultural Center and married a local girl (who he met at the Polynesian Cultural Center).

Education and Teaching Career

Following his graduation from Church College of Hawaii in 1970, Mike's passion for education led him to a teaching career at various institutions, including CCH, UH/Manoa, and even in Bandung, Indonesia. This phase of his life laid the foundation for his later endeavors.

Transition and Career Diversity

After a period of teaching, Mike decided to "retool" and diversify his career. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of his journey into journalism, PR, advertising, and extensive community involvement. His diverse skill set and dedication have allowed him to make meaningful contributions to various organizations.

Community Involvement and Contribution

Mike's impact extends beyond his professional endeavors, as he has dedicated significant time and effort to organizations such as BYU–Hawaii, the Polynesian Cultural Center, Hawaii Reserves, Inc., and the Church in Hawaii. His commitment to these institutions and the local community has left a lasting legacy.

Embracing Cultural Roots

Known by his Samoan/Hawaiian name, Mikaele, Mike has embraced his cultural heritage and integrated it into his personal and professional life. His deep connection to both Hawaiian and Samoan cultures is reflected in his work and his enduring contributions to the community.

Freelancing and Digital Media Content

For the past 20-plus years, Mike has operated from his home office, showcasing his expertise as a digital media content specialist. His ability to adapt to the evolving media landscape and his dedication to his craft have solidified his reputation as a respected figure in both Hawaiian and Samoan cultures. Mike Foley's journey is a testament to his resilience, adaptability, and unwavering dedication to making a difference. His story is one of passion, cultural immersion, and tireless service, serving as an inspiration to all who have the privilege of knowing him.
