It is my dream school.

From my own perspective, the mission of BYUH helped me understand my worth as a divine daughter of God, and I want to give back the things I learned from this institution to my motherland.

It is not just all about academics, it gave me a holistic experience in life. I didnt expect to have a lot of ups and downs during my stay here in BYUH, but it helped me grow and see life in different perspectives with the help of the people around me from different parts of the world and from different walks of life.

I visited with my family as a teen and knew it was a special place. Also, I wanted to run on the cross-country team.

Dulguunzaya Mashbat is a BYUHawaii alumna from Mongolia. She graduated in the class of 2024.

An incredible scholarship opportunity allowed me to pursue my career goals and dreams. I have thoroughly enjoyed gaining valuable experience here on campus, both academically and through various leadership roles.

I served as Vice President of the Mongolian Club at BYUHawaii for two consecutive terms, Winter 2023 and Spring 2024. During my second term, I led the Mongolian Club in collaborating with other international students to participate in the BYUH Got Talent competition, where we won a $500 prize in the Diversity Dance category. Additionally, I have over two years of experience as a supervisor in Facilities Management, ensuring smooth campus operations and a positive experience for everyone.

The mission of BYUHawaii is to prepare students like me to become lifelong learners and leaders who can contribute and serve their communities to build a better world. This mission resonates deeply with me and aligns perfectly with my long-term goals. I am grateful for the opportunities Ive received here, and I am committed to using every talent and skill I have to uplift and support my community, pushing it forward in meaningful ways.

BYUHawaii blessed me with comfort, peace of mind, and a nurturing environment as we raised our children. It is truly a one-of-a-kind school that you won't find anywhere else in the world. The memories I've made, the people I've met, and the colleagues I've worked with will stay with me forever.

Kayla Helm is a BYUHawaii alumna from Las Vegas. She attended from 2013-2016

I had always wanted to attend BYU-Hawaii. Once it became a realistic option I was really pulled by the diversity and David O. McKays vision of establishing peace internationally. It hasnt always made sense but I know I was meant to be there.

My studies have had a lot of influence on what Ive set out to do and who I have become, but so have my friends and classmates. My relationships at BYUH really shaped me and helped me grow as a person.

I feel belong and I am someone with potentials and professors and students at BYUH contribute to realizing those potentials.

Definitely worth it!

I just graduated with my MPA from BYU and is now back in Samoa working in local government.

Juyoun Kim is a BYUHawaii alumnus from Paju, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. He attended from 20172018, 20212024.

I knew many members who recommended me BYUH and how much experience they were able to get.

I think its amazing how BYUH is able to become a hope for many people especially in Asia-Pacific. Students are being exposed to various opportunities, and they are able to find their dreams here.

I found my dream career here. I first came as a Math Major and I did most of 300 classes, however I decided Id pursue Piano Instead of Math, and I do not have any regrets doing it. I was accepted in BYU Provo and University of Maryland Masters program in Piano Performance. Im really grateful for this blessing.

Irene Lolofie is a BYUHawaii alumna from America Samoa. She graduated in the class of 2024.

My dad was born and raised in Laie plus his grandparents and parents were part of the early pioneers of PCC. My mom brought my siblings and I to Laie after my dad passed away and from that time on, I knew I wanted to somehow be a part of Laie, BYUH and PCC just like my ancestors had been.

I feel like I learned so much at BYUH, beyond the academic side. I grew and stretched myself in ways that I dont think I could have anywhere else. I hope that because of who I became at BYUH, I can bless the lives of others.

I have friends from all over the world! Im especially lucky that we all became friends in the social media age because we still keep in touch no matter where we are in the world.

Siaosi Etika Moleni

Siaosi (George) Etika Moleni is a BYUHawaii alumnus from Tonga. He graduated in the class of 1969.

Siaosi (George) Etika Moleni was born September 17, 1944 while his parents were serving a mission in Tonga. While he was a child, CCH was established and his Dad, Alipate Measii Moleni told him to do good in school (Liahona High School) so he could attend CCH. He was the first in his family to attend and graduate from CCH. Many of his children (5) have since graduated from BYUH.

He played sports. He played rugby with the CCH rugby team. Played tennis, was part of the school wrestling team, played a little basketball.

Siaosi recognizes that many of his achievements/accomplishments were a direct result of his time spent at CCH. His sports activities in CCH led to his rugby career in Tonga. He worked as a referee for many local and international rugby games in Tonga. His education led him to his long career at Liahona High school as a teacher, principal, and counselor. His schooling took him all the way from Tonga, and Hawaii to Provo where he was blessed to continue with his education. His testimony of the gospel was strengthened during his time at CCH, and led him to serve in many callings.

He is retired and turns 80 on September 17. He currently serves as the Vaini stake patriarch.

Y Thi Nhu Pham is a BYUHawaii alumna from Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. She graduated in the class of 2024.

Because I love the diversity of BYUH, getting to know people around the world is great. And the school is close to the temple which I love the most. I'm also grateful for the IWORK program that has blessed my study here.

Christopher John Crippen is a BYUHawaii alumnus from Wildomar, CA. He attended from 1995-1997.

Followed my sister Carrie Crippen who was playing on the womens volleyball team. Grew to love this sacred campus of student disciples from all over the world!

I am so inspired by the emphasis on the development of discipleship and its resultant virtues of leadership and peace building.

First of all, I met my eternal companion there and later we started a family together where our first son was born and raised in temple view apartments. BYUHawaii is foundational in my life. I made other lifelong friendships there and was able to further my skill development and academics I would add that I gained appreciation for multiple cultural traditions. Its remarkable to see people from so many different places all get along so well as disciples of the Savior.
