In the most recent General Conference, Aley Auna, Jr. was announced as a new Area Seventy. Elder Auna graduated form BYU–Hawaii in 1979.

Elder Watson Receives Award 
Elder Kent D. Watson was honored with the Global Leadership Award by the BYU–Hawaii student chapter of the BYU Management Society.
 



Alumni Spotlight: Christian Hsieh
Christian and his wife Michelle, both from Taiwan, were married in December of 2000 and a month later headed to Hawaii for what they like to call their “three-year honeymoon.” While attending BYU–Hawaii, Christian worked at the Polynesian Cultural Center and sat on the Student Advisory Council. Christian graduated in 2003 with a major in Hospitality and Tourism and a minor in Accounting. His first job after college was as a marketing manager for a multi-national specialty chemical company in Shanghai. The Hsiehs then moved to Utah to work with a start-up company for creative consumer-packaging products for large retailers, where he was able to work with retail, scrapbooking, media, and film industries. He also had the opportunity to visit hundreds of factories in China to oversee new product development and production. Christian then went on to obtain an MBA at...
