Representatives from 14 Pacific nations took part in the voyage aptly named, "Te Mana o te Moana" or "The Spirit of the Sea."

Craig Huish, General Manager of the Laie Inn from 1992-2005, received the Lamp of Knowledge Award for Outstanding Educator.

Alumnus begins career in finance
BYU–Hawaii graduate Joshua Cooper, a business student from Calgary Canada, has recently procured a job a the Bank of Montreal.

The Laie Temple Dedication Cultural Celebration is highlighted in a three-minute video that can be found on the main page at Lds.org. 

History grads branch out
Many alumni that graduated with a degree in History find careers in other fields. One alum is helping shape the History curriculum online.

Alumni Spotlight: Simeon and Margaret Vance
For Simeon (IS, ’05) and Margaret (TESOL, ’02) Vance, coming to Brigham Young University–Hawaii gave them the opportunity to become closer to their family roots. Simeon’s fourth great-grandfather, Simeon Adams Dunn, was one of the first missionaries in the South Seas mission. In 1850, he was called by Brigham Young to serve in the Polynesian Islands.
